Foundation Art Zuid organises ARTZUID Art Camp for children from 5 to 12 years old during the school holidays. In the summer holidays, five-day Art Camps will take place for six consecutive weeks from 24 July to 1 September 2017. Art Camp is held at the Art Zuid studio at Prinses Irenestraat 19 from Monday to Friday (9 am to 5 pm). You can sign your child up now.
Under the direction of artist Maria Hovius and a team of enthusiastic volunteers, the children get the chance to develop their creative skills and experience being a real artist for five days. On outings to the ARTZUID sculpture route, the Art Chapel and the AkzoNobel corporate art collection, the children hear about the ideas behind the works of art. At the same time they learn to recognise different materials, shapes, contours, colours, volumes, surfaces and techniques. Plenty of inspiration!
In the studio the children learn to work with various techniques and materials, such as wood, plastic, cardboard, metal, stone, foam, plaster and clay. A special component of Art Camp is the 3D printing workshop. All works of art created by the children are displayed in an exhibition for family and friends at the end of the week.
Note: there are still a limited number of places available for the upcoming Art Camp from Monday 24 April to Wednesday 26 April 2017 (9 am to 5 pm). This is a three-day Art Camp due to the Dutch national holiday of King’s Day on 27 April.
