ARTZUID 2019 takes place from May 17 to September 15. More than 60 monumental sculptures by internationally renowned and up-and-coming artists will be exhibited for 4 months. From the station Zuid the route of the exhibition will take you along Minervalaan, Apollolaan and Museumplein. The route is 2.5 kilometers in total. Special places are reserved for site-specific works of new talents; artists who want to experiment in public space and seek a connection with the architectural environment and its residents. The avenues form important traffic axes from south to north and from west to east in the urban plan Plan-Zuid (1917) by architect Berlage. The neighborhood around Beethovenstraat is known for the Amsterdam School architecture and the architecture of Het Nieuwe Bouwen.
Visitors to ARTZUID can enjoy the sculptures, architecture and nature during their walk. The route can be visited free of charge. The Information Point on Minervalaan 1 is open daily between 10 am and 6 pm (during the exhibtion). Guided tours can be booked via [email protected]
