ARTZUID ART CLUB

Is your child crazy about drawing and arts and crafts and are you looking for a place where children can get creative during the week and learn all about art? Math and reading aside: At our art club we have all the painting, drawing, clay and craft materials available! In this craft club, your little craftsman will work as a real artist for 6 weeks! Register him/her now for ARTZUID ART CLUB, the arts and crafts club of Amsterdam!

• Starts 26 October until 30 November.
• For creative children from 7 to 15 years old.
• Every Monday afternoon from 15.30 to 17.45.
• Six weeks working on a work of art.
• Exhibition in week 6 for friends and family!

During ARTZUID ART CLUB, your child will work as a real artist for 6 weeks, developing his/her creative skills. Based on their own ideas, in the first lesson, they will get to work with ideas and make the first design, throughout the weeks the pupil will do a lot of research and experimenting with different materials and techniques, with different shapes, contours, colours and surfaces. For six weeks the pupil works under the guidance of an artist/teacher towards a real work of art as a final result. In the last lesson, the final presentation of all individual works of art takes place. These lessons are characterised by an individual approach and good supervision with a maximum of 15 pupils in the group.

Programme art club

• Art Club starts with a round table to welcome everyone and to discuss what we are going to do in the next six weeks.
• The children are given an explanation and guided tour in the ARTZUID children’s atelier.

• In week 1 and 2 the focus is on the conversation, collecting ideas, doing research and making a two-dimensional sketch.

• In weeks 3 to 5, experimenting with materials and developing your design into a three-dimensional work of art is the central theme.

• In week 6, the artworks will be made presentation ready and we will set up the exhibition area for a dazzling final exhibition of the ARTZUID ART CLUB.

   

Good to know about the art club

• The kids are supervised by an artist/teacher and a team of enthusiastic supervisors.
• ARTZUID ART CLUB is for children from 7 to 15 years old.
• The art club is 6 weeks long – From 26 October to 30 November – Every Monday afternoon – from 3.30 pm to 5.45 pm.

• If successful, you can register your child for the next quarter.

• ARTZUID provides the children with an apron, but keep in mind that clothes can get dirty.

• In week 6, your child can take the artwork home. So don’t forget to bring a large bag or box.

• The final exhibition in week 6 starts at 17.15 pm, so make sure to be there earlier than usual.

ARTZUID ART CLUB is organised in our children’s workshop at Prinses Irenestraat 19-2. This is the tall building in the Beatrixpark next to Restaurant As.
