I will become a Friend of ARTZUID and thus contribute to the organisation of the biennial, free and public sculpture exhibition in Amsterdam. My contribution will go entirely to the realization of the exhibition.

Depending on the chosen option, you will enjoy various advantages.

Your donation is deductible, because Stichting Art Zuid has been recognized by the Tax and Customs Administration as a non-profit institution (ANBI).

Friendships can be terminated before January each year by sending an e-mail to [email protected] stating your name. Your membership then runs until 31 December of the year in which you unsubscribe.

Book your combination tour for the ARTZUID Amsterdam Sculpture Biennial and the Louise Bourgeois exhibition in the garden of the Rijks Museum Amsterdam now.

Louise Bourgeois in the Rijksmuseum gardens
It is an annual experience to be surprised by sculptures in the gardens of the Rijksmuseum. This year you can admire the monumental statues of Louise Bourgeois. Bourgeois is internationally renowned as one of the most versatile female artists of the 20th century. For the first time, a wide selection of her outdoor sculptures will be brought together.

In addition to three of her world-famous Spiders, nine other sculptures will be on display that require the viewer’s involvement and physical proximity, such as the Eye Benches, The Welcoming Hands and The Blind Leading the Blind. For the first time, the monumental wingnut in the Rijksmuseum gardens will also be included in the summer exhibition: two high-gloss polished sculptures (Untitled) from 2004 hang between the imposing branches.

Combi guided tour ARTZUID x Stedelijk Museum

Book your combination tour for the ARTZUID Amsterdam Sculpture Biennale and the exhibition Hybrid Sculpture at the Stedelijk Museum.

Hybrid Sculpture
The exhibition Hybrid Sculpture shows a selection from the Stedelijk Museum’s collection of sculptures from the 1990s to the present day, a period in which artists approach sculpture with enormous freedom and are constantly exploring and stretching the boundaries of the medium. The term ‘hybrid’ refers to the mixture of genres, styles and media that is so typical of contemporary sculpture.
The exhibition includes work by Thomas Hirschhorn, Helen Marten, Jeff Koons and Marc Bijl, among others. More information can be found here.

Drop-in guided tour

Every Sunday we offer accessible drop-in guided tours of the sculptures at ARTZUID. These tours are open to everyone and you can register on the day. Drop in and be amazed by the stories behind the sculptures at ARTZUID.

  • One-hour guided tour.
  • Professional arthistorical guide.
  • Starting point: ARTZUID information pavilion on the grassy lawn across from Minervalaan 1.
  • Saturdays and Sundays at 1 pm.
  • Register and pay on the day.
  • Meet no later than 15 minutes prior to start of tour.

For people with a visual impairment, we offer a guided tour by a specialised tour guide on three different dates. This tour will take you along a selection of images that are suitable for touching.

 

  • Especially for the blind and visually impaired and their companions.
  • Specialised tour guide.
  • Guided tour of 1.5 hours.
  • Starting point: ARTZUID information pavilion on the green area near Minervalaan 1.
  • You can register and pay on site.
  • 3 dates: Wednesday 24 July, Saturday 24 August, Sunday 8 September.
  • Start time: 10:00 am.

Wander Safari

Book now the special expedition of artist PJ Roggeband that meanders past remarkable details of the Amsterdam School, hidden courtyards, shiny facades, green pearls and beautiful anecdotes. This tour shows the powerful past of this neighborhood and the richness of this ‘open air museum’.
