School programme ARTZUID

Bring your class to ARTZUID and immerse your pupils in leading outdoor art, teach them about the importance of outdoor art and introduce them to artists’ ideas. Sign up your class now for a visit to ARTZUID and receive a digital version of our specially developed educational material along with a guided tour of the sculptures. You can also bring your class along to our craft workshop on the route.

45,000 school children have already done the route!

ARTZUID 2019 is a real experience with accessible sculptures that you can immediately connect with and large interactive installations that you can actually go inside. The exhibition includes works by internationally renowned artists such as Jan Fabre, Elsa Tomkowiak, Antony Gormley, Gloria Friedmann and Takashi Murakami. The sculptures will be displayed outside on the tree-lined grassy areas of Minervalaan and Apollolaan. A visit to ARTZUID really lets you get away from it all for a while.

Lots to learn and experience at ARTZUID!

Our specially developed educational material examines the Interspace & Connection theme and takes a look at artists’ ideas, the various art movements and how materials, techniques, shapes, surfaces and colour are used. We also highlight the sculpture route’s unique location: Plan Zuid (1917) designed by architect H.P. Berlage. Our educational material is available for different levels – primary, secondary and special needs schools – and guided tours are adapted to suit the children’s age. In 2011 Stichting Art Zuid received the Europa Nostra Award from the EU for its educational programme.

Teachers award an A to their ARTZUID visit and the educational material!

After siging up your class you will receive a digital version of our educational material (including a teaching pack and activity books) for free so you can walk the route with your class. For just €5 per pupil you can get a one-hour guided tour of the sculptures for your class by our trained educational staff. This will give your pupils an insight into contemporary sculptural art and teach them to treat outdoor art with respect. Following the tour your class can get creative with craft activities at our children’s workshop at an extra charge of €5 per pupil.
